Luanne & Jindao's Big Day
The beautiful bride and handsome groom.
3 attempts of photo-taking and the groom's eyes were still closed, so not my fault! =P
They performed for the guests.
I love Luanne's lime green dress!
Time really flies, I have left SQ for almost 2 years already. Having to meet many of my ex-colleagues at Luanne & Jindao's wedding lunch last sunday, I felt nostalgic...it seemed like yesterday that I joined SQ as an AO. I really missed the good times I had in SQ. In fact till today, I am unable to explain what prompted me to leave the organisation...hmm...
With Kaisin and Eugin...they are the AOs of my time. =)
The pretty ladies from SD. 2 of them (excluding me) are ex-crew, can you guess who?
The past and present CCAOs
Sadly, my camera ran out of battery so couldn't take picture with Seth and Angie. =(

I prefer the one at the $6.90 Japanese restaurant at Chinatown

Teriyaki Chicken Soba
Both Udon & Soba tasted too sweet

Why is Prudential taking so long?
Despite waiting for 3 days, I failed to get a reply from my agent on the name issue which I wrote about in my previous post. Is it really that difficult to check the database and correct the mistake? Does the company need a few month just to change my name? Well, in the first place, I don't understand why they can get my name wrongly keyed in the database. This is such a careless mistake. And the fact that they failed to correct it promptly made the matter worst.
As compared to my AIA agent, this Prudential agent is such a failure...Well, I don't doubt that she can be really good in coaxing her customers to purchase insurance products from her and earning loads of money from closing the deals. But she is really a disappointment in servicing her clients.

Disappointed with Prudential...Again
I am really very fed up with Prudential...but yet I can't surrender my policy without suffering a loss. So I have to continue to feed them money despite being unhappy with their service. wtf!
This saga started officially in May 2009 when I received a mass sms from my Prudential agent. In her sms, she stated that she has decided to leave the company and her sister will be taking over her client servicing role as my prudential agent. Since she did not include her sister's contact no. in the sms, I reckoned that I needed not to contact this new agent as she will be taking the initiative to call me soon.
A few weeks later, I received a letter from Prudential that informed me that my agent has changed and this new agent is supposed to call me within a month.
However, I waited for about 2 months and there is no call or sms from this new agent. Having purchased an investment-linked policy, I wanted to get some updates from this new agent (my last update from my Prudential agent was about 2 years go). Thus, I sms my ex-agent to request for her sister's no. I am disappointed that she failed to reply as it proved a total change of attitude as compared to the time when she tried to get me to purchase the policy.
I finally get to speak to the new agent after going through rounds of calls with the contact centre staff and an unsuccessful attempt to log my request on the website (I deemed it as unsuccessful as the staff who was maning the website only called me 2 weeks later...I really wonder whether this is their SLA). The excuse that the new agent gave me was really quite lame. She said that she was busy moving house and thus, she had no time to contact me...wow, I didn't expect to hear such an excuse. How long does it take to make a phone call?
This incident was a really unpleasant one. Yet, I chose to give her a chance to be my agent. And now, I am disappointed again.
When I received my policy statement a few months ago, I noted that my name was incorrect and thus, I asked her to make the amendments. Yet till today, the mistake still persist. Did she take the effort to make the changes for me? Is there something wrong with the operations of company?

Tickets booked!
Staying in hotels in Paris is sooo expensive. I was checking out the rates with my sis yesterday night but couldn't find a reasonable priced and comfortable hotel at a good location. I think we will probably spend 1 or 2 nights at the Disney Resort hotel as it is relatively cheaper...

Life with simple pleasures
Ok, I shall not start my new year being so emotional...Come on, high note please! Greedy me gonna blog about some of the good food I had during the long weekend.
Asam fish head - I am not exactly a fan of fish head because I can never find the meat and thus, I always end up having the gravy and miserable vegetables. Well, glad that I had this asam fish head with caring FK on New Year eve. He never fails to dig out the meat for me...hehe...
The company, the desserts and the drink.
Dinner @ Hup Choon Seafood near Bukit Timah after Badminton session with FK, Joey and Winston
Cuttlefish with Kang Kong. Heard from them that having too much Kang Kong will have cramps. Is that true? Nevertheless, this dish is delicious!
Yam ring request by me. I think I ate half of the ring...
Prawn paste chicken. I had 3 though there were only 8 pieces...so greedy
This curry fish head is good...I depended solely on FK to dig the meat for me. =P
Now is time to diet and exercise...in preparation for more good food to come.

End of Spa saga? Hopefully...
Channel NewsAsia - Friday, December 25
SINGAPORE: The spa industry took a blow more than a month ago when two outlets shut down overnight leaving customers stranded. But another company has stepped in to help those affected.
What used to be known as an outlet for pampering and relaxation has, of late, been seen as a breeding ground for empty promises and confusion.
The sudden closures of Wellness Village and Simply Spa left clients who had paid upfront for their services in a lurch. All this left a scar on the industry and players said business has dropped by about 10 per cent since then.
But not all is lost for some 500 spa patrons. Atos Wellness Group is offering to provide their unutilised treatments at no extra cost.
It is also working with four other companies — Subtle Senses, Beyond Beauty, Beauty Express and Rustic Nirvana — to help customers.
Ananda Rajah , CEO, Atos Wellness Group, said: "We felt there was a lot of negative publicity about the spa industry in Singapore in general. And we felt it was important for us to show a vote of confidence that the spa industry is able to cope with any kind of negative setbacks due to the closure of any particular spa."
Nellie Chan, a customer affected by the spa closure, said: "I’m very pleased to receive such good news because it’s like a Christmas gift. So I will be interested to really sit down, meet up with them and discuss what are the things they can offer to us."
Going forward, Atos is thinking of setting up an association to help anyone affected by a spa shutdown.
The Consumers Association of Singapore said it welcomes efforts by the industry to help consumers when a business closes. It is also willing to look at proposals of setting up the association, urging bigger players to think of concrete processes to safeguard consumer interests. — CNA/vm
Mary and Grace are so sweet...we were discussing about my Wellness Village saga during our tea session on Saturday and both of them proactively sent me the link before I even google for it. I really hope that I can claim my unused sessions without any terms and conditions.

StrengthsFinder 2.0
About StrengthsFinder 2.0
"Hide not your talents. They for use were made. What's a sundial in the shade?"-- Benjamin Franklin
Do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day?
Chances are, you don't. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths.
To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in the 2001 management book Now, Discover Your Strengths. The book spent more than five years on the bestseller lists and ignited a global conversation, while StrengthsFinder helped millions to discover their top five talents.
In StrengthsFinder 2.0 Gallup unveiled the new and improved version of its popular assessment, language of 34 themes, and much more. While you can read this book in one sitting, you'll use it as a reference for decades.
Loaded with hundreds of strategies for applying your strengths, this Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and USA Today bestseller will change the way you look at yourself -- and the world around you -- forever.
