Rest & Relax in Shanghai Day 1

290311
Shanghai

Though the objective of my trip is to visit FK who was working in Shanghai, I spent most of the time on my own as he was busy with work. Nevertheless, I love touring on my own as there is more freedom to do whatever I want...can shop for the whole day or rest in the hotel till noon if I am tired. That is what a rest and relax trip should be, isn't it? =)

Took CX to Shanghai coz there was HSBC promotion

Despite the flight time was longer due the 1 hour transit, I was quite happy to take CX as I get the chance to shop at HK airport!

Finally arrived at 隆阳路 station after taking the super fast maglev which is travelling at 300+km/hr! But my hotel wasn't there so gotta take a cab to 耀华路 which was where at Shanghai World Expo used to be.

Yes, I was staying opposite the China Pavilion which is the only one that is still around after the Shanghai World Expo.

Pity that I didn't get the chance to visit the rest of the pavilions in 2010. =(

Arrived safely at my hotel.

My first meal in Shanghai: 小杨生煎. It is must try! But be careful while biting it coz the hot soup will ooze out of this little bao! Yummy!

Hong Kong Day 1

240610
SIN-HKG via Cathay Pacific
We has been planning for this HKG trip since March and finally we managed to travel together. =)
Our day 1 in HKG is just about shopping & having street snacks at Mongkok & Prince Edward. Staying at Harbour Plaza 8 degree, a hotel which was located kinda far from town, we have to leave the bustling districts at 10 pm (so that we can catch the last shuttle bus at 10.20pm at Tsim Sha Tsui), which is kinda a spoilsport as HKG is a place filled with active night life.

Though this was my 12th visit to HKG (my last visit was in November'09), I still love visiting the country and managed to try something new such as the mango sago drink (which I really liked it!) and the pepper handmade noodles (which was too hot for me to finish the entire bowl)

My boarding pass - Change of seat from 51C to 54G.

The ground staff told us that the inflight entertainment systems at our original seats weren't working and thus, they had to change our seats. However, when we were onboard the flight, we realised that the inflight entertainment systems at 51A - C were working perfectly fine. In fact, there were passengers seated our original seats. Puzzled...did the ground staff lie to us as some other passengers wanted our seats? If so, they must be really stupid to have done that. Come on, we aren't blind k!

Camwhoring before we reach HKG

In the airport transfer bus to the hotel.

We were supposed to take the 1.15pm bus but we missed it as the bus co-ordinator simply ignore us when we asked him to show us to our bus. Gotta wait for about 30 mins for the next one so was having buns in the airports to curb our hunger.

Habour Plaza 8 Degree - our hotel room
There were urine stains on the toilet bowl when we check-in to the room. I have stayed in so many hotels before and this was the first time I had such an unpleasant experience. The housekeeping staff need to be more vigilant in ensuring that such incidents don't happen again. It creates a very negative first impression.
