Hong Kong Day 1

240610
SIN-HKG via Cathay Pacific
We has been planning for this HKG trip since March and finally we managed to travel together. =)
Our day 1 in HKG is just about shopping & having street snacks at Mongkok & Prince Edward. Staying at Harbour Plaza 8 degree, a hotel which was located kinda far from town, we have to leave the bustling districts at 10 pm (so that we can catch the last shuttle bus at 10.20pm at Tsim Sha Tsui), which is kinda a spoilsport as HKG is a place filled with active night life.

Though this was my 12th visit to HKG (my last visit was in November'09), I still love visiting the country and managed to try something new such as the mango sago drink (which I really liked it!) and the pepper handmade noodles (which was too hot for me to finish the entire bowl)

My boarding pass - Change of seat from 51C to 54G.

The ground staff told us that the inflight entertainment systems at our original seats weren't working and thus, they had to change our seats. However, when we were onboard the flight, we realised that the inflight entertainment systems at 51A - C were working perfectly fine. In fact, there were passengers seated our original seats. Puzzled...did the ground staff lie to us as some other passengers wanted our seats? If so, they must be really stupid to have done that. Come on, we aren't blind k!

Camwhoring before we reach HKG

In the airport transfer bus to the hotel.

We were supposed to take the 1.15pm bus but we missed it as the bus co-ordinator simply ignore us when we asked him to show us to our bus. Gotta wait for about 30 mins for the next one so was having buns in the airports to curb our hunger.

Habour Plaza 8 Degree - our hotel room
There were urine stains on the toilet bowl when we check-in to the room. I have stayed in so many hotels before and this was the first time I had such an unpleasant experience. The housekeeping staff need to be more vigilant in ensuring that such incidents don't happen again. It creates a very negative first impression.

My day 1 purchase

$1200 for fish?

Read on Yahoo News that a man was charged $1224 for a steamed fish dish at Feng Shui Inn restaurant in RWS. Oh my god, the poor diner must be shocked to see the bill. Afterall, who will have expected that a steamed fish dish can cost more than a thousand dollars!!!

Yes, the operation cost of the restaurant is high, given the fact that it is located in RWS. However, such ridiculous pricing is totally unacceptable. In fact, it is highly possible that the restaurant may lose its customers given such negative publicity.

Foodie & Movie Weekend

Basically, this weekend is just about food & movie.
Went to a few nice restaurants - Lao Beijing, Food Paradise & Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ Restaurant and watch 2 entertaining movies at GV - Sex & The City 2 & The Karate Kid.

Lunch @ Lao Beijing with Ee Wa, Clara & Kelly before Sex & The City 2. The Zhai Jiang Mian was yummilicious. It tasted better than the one at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao and is not as oily.
As requested by Ee Wa, we went for tea at Food Paradise after our movie.
Looks good but doesn't taste as good, in fact is kinda over-priced - my review of Food Paradise.

Went to meet FK for dinner at Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ restaurant after tea (very greedy hor?)

Food was good but the service at Crystal Jade Korean restaurant was lousy. One of the junior waitress served us the wrong order and when we told the senior staff that the wrong order was served, she simply just shouted across our table to communicate with the kitchen staff on the correct order...so unprofessional, please note that we were in a restaurant and not Kopitiam!

O2 jet @ Asian Skin Solutions

Despite all the negative experience I had with Asian Skin Solutions, I decided to give them another chance. I took up 10 sessions of the O2 jet facial. According to the beauty consultant, this O2 jet facial is supposed to help to maintain PH level of the skin and to prevent blemishes. She shared that she has an eczema client who is undergoing this treatment and the client is very satisfied with the improvement of her skin. Well, I hope what she has shared is true and I am not being treated as a fool for signing the package...

Messy Reno

Came home today and realised that my room was in a mess.
My sis's mattress was on top of my bed and my desk was filled with dust!
The reno guys have only changed the lights and yet they messed up my room?wtf!
And now my mum told me that they will be painting the wall and the ceiling this week.
So where am I going to keep all my things? Sighz...
