Random carelessness

When I did my pedicure 2 weeks ago, I was pretty pissed when someone stepped on my toe in the mrt and hence, damaged my newly done pedicure. Having tolerated the unslightly stain on my toe for a week plus, I went to Anglesky8 to do my pedicure again on Friday. Guess what, I dropped my 500ml bottle, which was filled with water, on the same toe just now. And now, my poor toe nail has chipped and the pedicure isn't prefect again. Sighz....why am I so careless?

Destress

Am getting increasingly paranoid nowadays
Wondering it is due to aging
Always imagine the worst and give myself unnecessary stress
Gotta learn to relax and think positive
Come on, be happy!
Coz you are a lucky gal!

The Big Four Singapore Concert

091010
The Big Four Singapore Concert
Singapore Indoor Stadium

Being a non-Cantonese speaker (though I can understand a little), I don't think is fair for me to post a review of the concert. Well, I can only say that I prefer CoCo Lee's concert.
However, I did feel nostalgic listening to some of the songs, especially those solos by 蘇永康 & 張衛健. Really brought back some memories...

No, the tickets weren't complimentary. But I managed to get 50% off!

Crabby Nitez Out

Due to my laziness, this post is long overdue. =P

Went for a crab session with the gals at Mellben Seafood. This was my second visit to the famous crab cum zi char place in Ang Mo Kio. Luckily, we didn't have to queue (unlike my previous visit in which I had to queue for almost an hour) as RT managed to reserve a table in advance.

Honestly, I don't think the crab is that fantastic. I had tried better ones...But I guess the company is more important right? =)

Delighted ladies after a sumptuous meal

Ling refused to take picture with us so Shi had to take picture with Ling's bottle instead

Super happy Xue

CoCo Lee East2West Concert Live in Singapore

021010
Coco Lee East2West Concert
Singapore Indoor Stadium

Powerful voice, sexy dance moves.
Her effort paid off as it was really an enjoyable concert.
The first Chinese to perform in the Oscars, singing " A Love Before Time" from the movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" which was the Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song, in the 73rd Academy Awards. She is definitely a singer who deserves recognition.

If not for the fact that FK missed her concert 10 years ago (she had her last concert in Singapore in 2000. Yes, that was a long time ago!), he wouldn't have insisted that we must go for her concert this time round. Sooo...a big thank you to FK for giving me the opportunity to enjoy this concert! =)

Ticket sales wasn't as good...we were given better seats by the event usher though we didn't pay that much.

We were each given a mega light stick

She had a total of 5 "major" outfits. The reason why I deemed the outfit as major is because there would be a "minor" outfit beneath it...and I think these "minor" outfits were meant to promote her womanly curves.

Example, from this (photos taken from CoCo Lee's fan page):

More Complaints on Last Minute Marketing & Planning Pte Ltd

Apparently, I wasn't the only one who didn't have a good impression of Last Minutes Marketing & Planning Pte Ltd. Received an email from a reader of my blog who also had a bad experience with the travel agency:

Hi peggy, Saw your blog on lastminute marketing batam 3D/2N trip. How was your trip? I have just made my booking and it was really a joke. No email reply so i called up to check and they say it is confirmed and ii need to pay admin $80 plus tax $27. When i went down to pay, they insisted that since i was not their member i would have to pay $10/pax for extra bf,lunch, dinner and massages. I disagreed and some of the staff came to talk to me. A Mr.Lee tried to explain but he doesn't made sense and use the last resort by showing me the last line of the terms and condition "Company deserve all rights to amend the terms and condition from time to time". Rebutted him that this is a standard clause but it will not be valid as it is unfair to consumer. He was pretty pissed and storm off after telling his staff to "give" everything i want and he is busy with his meetings.. Ha Ha Ha! No itinerary was given and the travel voucher comes a faded letterhead with no reference number. Errors was detected on the voucher and changes was made by pen! The service staff is unsure and did not explain to me that i need to collect the voucher from the habourfront batam counter and meet the Nusajaya staff at batam pickup. Should have went to proper tour agent with better service and the price is similar..http://www.fivestarsonline.com/uploads/images/MO5O2golden%20view%20 combine%20file.pdf. The point is there is no free lunch in the world. Will not be entertaining these companies anymore.

Tell me if your trip is fine. If not will be claiming for a refund. Thank you and have a nice day. regards, xxx (I have masked his/her name)

Given the fact that consumers are getting more and more affluent and demanding, I need to stress the importance of good customer experience in ensuring the survival of businesses. Last Minute, good luck!

My New Toy

After contemplating for so long, I finally bought my new toy - iphone4.

The initial setting up of the phone is really a hassle. Why must they have a different sim card? Out to create trouble for consumer!

However, the phone is much more user-friendly than I expected. Very intuitive in fact...Kudo to the designer. It is indeed very innovative.

金大班

What I am watching: 金大班

Set in Shanghai in the 1930s / 1940s, the drama follows the story of a dance hostess, Chin Zhao Li, and the 3 important men in her life.
Due to family poverty, Chin Zhao Li was forced to become a dance hostess at the infamous Paramount dance hall in Shanghai when she was 18 years old. The story is about how she met her first love, Sheng Yue Ru (Vic Zhou), a young man from Shanghai's high society, who studied abroad, loves painting and theater, and someone who is single-minded and dedicated to love. They fell deeply in love and became lovers. But their relationship faced strong resistance and objections from both families, especially Yue Ru's father, a rich banker.

Black Pig Indulgence @ Tampopo

290910
Liang Court - Tampopo
I always view Tampopo as a restaurant that serves food of premium standard and once again, they didn't fail to impress me. It was my first time eating the black pig and I concluded that it is really fatty but yummy...once in a blue moon indulgence is ok lah. =P

This was what I ordered. There was a 40% discount!

The actual set...not much difference as compared to the menu, unlike some restaurants in which the picture in the menu looks appealing, but the food which is being served is a disappointment.

Sydney Day 4 & 5

190810 & 200810
Sydney
Paddy Market & Birkenhead Point
We spent most of our time shopping on Day 4 & Day 5. Despite the fact that Australia isn't a fantastic place for shopping especially if one is looking for cheap and good deals due to the exchange rate (omg, is ~1.28 SGD to 1 AUS now!), we still managed to buy a few items to satisfy our shopping craze.

The two places which I recommend for better deals:

Yes, it is the Paddy Market which is opened from Wednesday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm. It is must-go if you intend to buy souvenirs for your family and friends.

Birkenhead Point is another place which you can shop for clothes and shoes. I bought my Onitsuka Tiger sneakers at one of the sport shops for SGD$38. Really a steal!

Delighted me after shopping.

.
We took a direct bus there from Mercure Hotel. ~20mins ride.

Emperor's Cream Puff

A must-have if you come to Sydney, especially if you are a custard lover like me.
You can find it in Chinatown.
We had almost everyday when we were in Sydney. Yummy! =)

So small. One is definitely not enough!

Sydney Day 3

180810
Sydney
Australian Reptile Park & Port Stephen
A good mix of sea and sand.
We went on a cruise to Port Stephen for Dolphin and Whale watching, followed by a four-wheel drive at the sand dunes.

But before that, a tour of the Reptile Park...which was not stated in our itinerary. Guess it was added in as it is "on the way" to where we can board to the cruise to Port Stephen.
Honestly, I am never a fan of reptiles as I always find that they look ugly.

Actually the park is quite small. We managed to tour the place (inclusive of reading on info on reptiles) within an hour.

One of them is not a reptile...guess which one?

Reached the jetty at 12 plus, thus, gotta have a quick lunch as we needed to board the boat at 1.15pm. Nevertheless, we still managed to take pictures!

Isn't this beautiful?

I love the sea...but that doesn't mean I love to get into the sea.

Flocks of seagulls.

I think I enjoyed taking pictures on the boat much more than whale and dolphin watching. In fact, we could only catch a glimpse of the mammals...so FK was saying that it was a Cheat One!

The Four-wheels drive. The last time I experienced this was in Dubai in 2005.

Posing again...

Writing on the sands.

A last stop at the beautiful seaside before we headed back to the city

My turn to pose. Haha!

Sydney Day 2

170810
Sydney
Blue Mountian & Featherdale Wildlife Park

The highlight of our Day 2 in Sydney was the Three Sisters, a famous rock formation which is located in the beautiful Blue Mountain.

There is a legend behind this picturesque rock formation – Three sisters fell in love with three men from the other tribes in which marriage between the tribes was forbidden. As a result, the men captured the sisters. In order to protect the sisters, an elder witchdoctor turned them into stone.

Ok, this is only a legend so don’t expect it to make sense. =P

Towering high above the Jamison Valley, the Three Sister is a famous tourist attraction and a must-see when one visits Sydney. Also known as Meehni, Wimlah and Gunneddoo, the Three Sisters stand at heights of 912, 918 and 906 metres tall.

Glad that I finally had a chance to see it…on my tenth visit to Sydney. The previous nine trips were not for leisure so didn't have enough time go for the tour.

The coach was late so we took some pictures to pass time while waiting at the hotel

Stopped at Leura for morning coffee. Despite the sunshine, it was pretty chilly.

Beautiful view of the Three Sisters

Bought the pass for Scenic Railway, Skyway & Cableway. We gonna spend 2 hours in the Blue Mountain National Park!

One of the steepest railway in the world!

There is another mock-up version for tourist to take picture

Walking along Echo Point before taking the Cableway to the exit of the park

The Cableway has arrived!

Statue of one of the Three Sisters

We spent the later part of the day at Featherdale Wildlife Park where we got the chance to take pictures with the Koala (luckily, we didn’t pay to take pictures with Koala in Gold Coast. Save AUS 15!) and roam with the Kangaroo.
